2013-2014 was another successful season for NY SPIN. A hearty thank you to all of our volunteers, attendees, speakers, sponsors, and supporters who helped make it so exciting and worthwhile.
Now we're gearing up for another fabulous season for you to exchange knowledge of process improvement and network with other professionals for mutual career development. Our key goals include finding team leaders and volunteer staff for several key committees. Let us know which of the below committees you'd like to join (or any other role you'd like to play), to make 2014-2015 our best season ever!
Program: Propose and help find and schedule speakers. Possibly be the key contact for one or more speakers ensuring they are in sync with the plan for the date and location of the event, and helping coordinate with the Event committee on event day to get the Speaker set up.
Event: Help find and book venues; venue communications; speaker orientation to the meeting space, sound, and projector; reception (great for face time); refreshments; facilitate networking; respond as needed to make the meeting successful; cleanup.
Sponsorship: Identify prospective sponsors; introduce them to the idea and benefits of becoming sponsor; packages; work with the Board to seal the deal; help manage the relationship to ensure they get the value they expected or better, so they'll renew next season!
Marketing: Help us get the word out about NY SPIN and our events. Are you good at networking? Maybe you have a bit of marketing experience or want to get some. Maybe you are good at and can assist with using social media. All experience and enthusiasm welcome.
Interested? Please reply to 2014Volunteer@nyspin.org with "Volunteering" in the subject line and provide your name, contact information including phone number, and the committee you'd like to volunteer for.
Thank you.

Webinar June 10: Agile Coaching: An Inside Look
NY SPIN sponsor
It’s been demonstrated time and time again that working with an agile coach can dramatically improve success rates, accelerate adoption, and when done well catalyze lasting and sustainable change. But what does that really mean and how can a coach help? Agile coaching has become such a sought after service and it’s momentum stirred up so much dust that it’s left company leaders cloudy about when to engage an agile coach, what to expect when working with them, and how their services can actually enable the results their organization seeks.
In this webinar Jeff Steinberg, one of BigVisible's Senior Agile Coaches will let people in on the mystery of:
- Why agile coaching is so crucial to successful agile adoption and lasting transformation
- What agile coaches do and when to engage one
- How agile coaches partner with you to:
--- Identify and overcome weak spots
--- Develop and implement holistic strategies for sustained success
--- Enable high-performing teams, programs, and large organizations
--- Become the internal agile coach at your organization

Many companies seek to be agile in order to better adapt to changing requirements, market place, and customers; to build not just any product but the “right” one; to get their products, services, and enhancements to market more quickly; and do so with high quality levels. Enterprise agility seeks the same outcomes but is done at a much larger scale, and the larger the enterprise the more complex and complicated the needs and challenges can be.It’s been demonstrated time and time again that working with an agile coach can dramatically improve success rates, accelerate adoption, and when done well catalyze lasting and sustainable change.
