 Synopsis:

Common Challenges in Managing Online Systems and What You Can Do About Them

Managers of IT systems face many similar challenges, especially in rapidly growing online businesses. Some of these challenge stem from common assumptions that we can all examine and learn from. Drawing on case studies in the public domain and others, Bill will describe some of these challenges and assumptions, and what you can do to turn them into opportunities. He will also invite a few of those present to share real-world examples that could either illustrate or challenge his conclusions.

Biography: Bill Greenbaum

Bill Greenbaum, MBA, PMP, CSM, is a business statistics analyst. His current focus is on reducing waste and unnecessary costs of operating energy and water systems for buildings. Bill has over 15 years of IT experience, mostly at First Data and ibm.com, and before that at Merrill Lynch. He has analyzed online systems performance & capacity, developing Web applications, and lead Six Sigma and Agile initiatives to improve cost, quality, and schedule performance. Bill’s record of achievements include the design of internal stakeholder satisfaction surveys and member surveys. He has a B.A. Degree from Dartmouth and an MBA from NYU Stern School of Business. He is an experienced and certified Scrum Master, and a trained facilitator for innovationgames.com. Bill is also a long-time member of NY SPIN and serves as its Secretary and Treasurer.
