Abstract:

Enterprise search has become a key enabling platform technology for companies of all sizes across all industries, helping companies turn information into positive business outcomes through engaging user experiences. In this discussion, we will learn how enterprise search is transforming businesses, connecting people and information, to help companies increase revenues on their public-facing web properties, and reduce costs by improving business performance, increasing employee productivity and speeding innovation and customer responsiveness within the enterprise. We will discuss the key principles and components of an enterprise search system and how enterprise search can be deployed throughout an organization to improve business processes and drive greater profitability and employee and customer satisfaction.

Biography


Perry Solomon has 15 years of experience in the media & entertainment, technology and Internet industries, helping companies develop and implement growth strategies. Most recently, Perry was Director, Product Management with the Enterprise Search Group at Microsoft, leading product and go-to-market strategies for ESG’s Internet Business solutions, following Microsoft’s acquisition of FAST Search & Transfer. While at FAST, Perry was Senior Vice President, Product Marketing, Monetization Solutions, and General Manager, Media Solutions, working with FAST’s customers to develop innovative consumer-facing search-driven solutions. Previously, Perry was a founder and Vice President of Strategy and Products at Peppercoin, an electronic payments software company and was also a Strategic Change consultant in the Entertainment, Media & Communications practice at PricewaterhouseCoopers. Perry received a bachelor's degree in foreign service from Georgetown University and an MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management.
